The First 5 Steps to Opening your Beauty Business

1) PLAN IT- For any successful business you have to have a plan. Get a notebook and write down all of your dreams and hopes for your business. What it will look like, who you will serve, what your color schemes will be. Make a jam board online and save your inspirations for colors, textures, logos. Figure out what services you want to specialize in, who your ideal client will be. Write down potential business names and check online to see if they are trademarked or taken in your state.

2) REGISTER- Register your business online, decide what entity is right for you. (LLC, DBA, INC) Check to see if your business name is already trademarked by someone else or taken in your state. Look and see what type of licensing is required to operate your business and what insurance is needed both professionally and for the building

4) CREATE YOUR BRAND- Now that you have your business name and branding inspiration its time to put it all together, create your logo and marketing material that you know will appeal to your ideal client type. Don’t forget about digital templates and social media to help make your brand more accessible. The bigger the “online conversation” with your brand the more eyes will see your business.

5) BOOK- Choose your booking system, add all your services offered. Don’t forget the no show or late cancelation fees. Make it live and book! I prefer to send my clients to the online portal to book and offer my cell number just incase they may need some additional help. Make sure you add your booking link to all of your social profiles to make it easier for new clients.
