Need to make some extra money in the next couple weeks? Try this Promo!!
Dec 11, 2023Hey Beauty Pros!! I know some of you have been having a slower than normal Holiday season. Holiday season makes up for 20-28% of our yearly revenue. That means if you want to make $100,000 a year you need to make $20,000-$28,000 in the last 2 months of the year.
Not there yet, don't fret! The goal is achievable as a solo esthetician, I've made it year after year. You need some planning and strategies to do it. If you need some extra money and FAST, like the next couple weeks fast I suggest you offer a gift card promotion.
This is one of my absolute favorite ways to make a few thousand dollars in a short amount of time. My clients love it because they feel like they're getting something "free" and I love it because I get an increase in money in just a few short weeks.
What is a Spa gift card promotion? Well the promotion I like to use is spend a certain amount get a certain amount back. I set minimum spends for each promotion. So say the minimum spend for my spa gift card promotion is $100, that means my clients have to spend at least $100 to get the promotion.
Now we set the promo amount, let's say 20%. So for my clients to take advantage of the gift card promo they have to spend $100. I'm giving them 20% for free so they pay $100 and their total gift card value is $120.
Now remember this is a really great way to get some extra cash fast, but come Jan-March these same clients may not be buying their services depending on how much they spent on their gift cards. That's when yo really focus on getting those clients to help bring in new clients.
The way you want to sell these promos to your clients will be something like "Mrs. Smith did you see the gift card promotion I'm running? When you spend at least $100 you get 20% back for free. I know you love doing your dermaplane facials with me. If you bought 5 today on a gift card you would get a 6th one for free! The gift card would be banked on your account and we'll just deduct the balance each time you come in. Did you want me to go ahead and take advantage of the free service?"
Remember relating your specials to services your clients ACTUALLY buy and using assuming language like your promos are a no brainer, any one would want them. Will increase your sales drastically. Because DUH your promos are a no brainer and your clients should take advantage of them.
I then let me clients know they can start using their gift card on their next visit in January, that way you aren't filling up your time with already paid for services in December.
Remember to set sales goals for this promo, 1 big, 1 small, 1 medium and track your sales to see if it's a success! Most POS or sales systems have an option for virtual gift cards. Make sure to set it up properly in your system. You can even send out a promo e-mail or text with the link to purchase directly! I also like to print out a QR code for easy scanning.
